It’s officially Fall and there’s nothing I love more than reorganizing and restocking for the new season. The sweaters and long-sleeves come to the forefront of the closet, time to purge the old beauty products and restock the inventory prepping for cold weather. A new fascination of mine now is switching up the scents for the seasons and occasions. I used to just find my one, maybe two perfumes and stick with them until the bottle ran out or I was gifted a new perfume for Christmas. I have just recently gotten sucked into the power of fragrances and now there’s no getting out for me! Jo Malone has opened my eyes to subtle yet sensual scents while I love my Carolina Herrera Good Girl for a night out. I’m a huge fan of florals but not overpowering, sweet but not to a confectioner’s level and I need some element of musk or wood to round it all together. Whether it’s situational or seasonal, switching up the fragrances has been quite the adventure for me and I want to share with you some of my personal favorites!
Jo Malone–
If you are looking for a subtly strong, clean fragrance than look no further than Jo Malone. Classic scents that at first you’re like hmm do these things go together? The answer is yes every time. My personal favorites from Jo Malone are the Nectarine Blossom & Honey, Wood Sage & Sea Salt and English Pear & Freesia.
Baccarat Rouge 540 Eu de Parfum– This perfume just gives rich b**ch energy. A level of sophistication, if this is your everyday scent, I applaud you. Super pricey but once you smell this fragrance, you understand why. Main notes of cedar wood, amber and jasmine tied together to make this absolutely delicious woody floral scent. If you haven’t try asap and if you have well then you already know.
Big fan of the Replica line, their goal being to transport you to a memory locked in time by their fragrances. My personal favorites being Autumn Vibes (a spicy, woody, earthy fragrance transporting you on a walk on a crisp autumn day) and Lazy Sunday (freshly washed linens sprinkled in Lily of the Valley) these scents are specific and spot on. I’m guessing that’s why I love them so much.
Soleil Blanc- definitely more of a daytime scent for me because it’s a very bright and vibrant floral scent. Key notes of cardamom, ylang ylang and coco de mer, this fragrance is strong at first but settles down with wear creating a warm, earthy floral. Super warm and inviting.
Santal 33, classic, gender-neutral and loved by all. Le Labo is richly intoxicating scent that one is not quick to forget with key notes of violet and cardamom. Pricey for sure, Le Labo prides themselves in using the most expensive and luxurious materials in the world to make their fragrances and the quality shows. I dare you to spritz yourself with this perfume and tell me you didn’t get one compliment all day.. I wouldn’t believe you if you did because it’s actually impossible.
Good Girl – I’ve been wearing this fragrance for years and it will always be a date night special. Floral notes tied with almond, coffee and bergamot. As the bottle gives way to a night out, this scent is sexy, playful and on the sweeter side. Still one of my nighttime go to’s for years!
Playing around with fragrances is so much fun and a great way to boost your confidence before leaving the house. When you look good, smell good – you feel good. Why look like a snack without smelling like one? I had fun with that but truly, smelling great is such the cherry on top of feeling your best, the same way how you dress or do your make up to express yourself, your fragrance is the bow that ties that all together.
