Last month, I attended a brilliantly stunning event hosted at the Hotel Bel Air by none other than Brilliant Earth celebrating their collaboration launch with Logan Hollowell. Honestly, stunning doesn’t even begin to describe, dreamy, ethereal, whimsical are a few adjectives that come to mind. Just wanted to share some highlights and photos from the event as well as a true story that to where I thought I was having a mortifying moment but I turned lemons into lemonade.
The event was truly stunning as was the location, right by a little lake with swans swimming around, tucked away in a stunning garden was the event set up that dreams are made of. A long table filled with s curves adorned with flowers galore.. it truly was something out of a fantasy. They had glass cases set up showcasing the Logan Hollowell’s gorgeous pieces inspired by nature and cosmos. These pieces range from dainty to show stopping dazzling with jewels and diamonds. The meal was phenomenal, starting course was a burrata salad, followed by one of the best crispy skin salmon dishes I’ve ever had and finished with a strawberry shortcake. I vowed to myself that I’m gong back the Hotel Bel-Air for dinner because wow, that meal was everything.
These pieces are jaw-droppingly stunning!! The entire line is inspired by an enchanted garden and wow did she nail this vibe. Showcasing lab diamonds and emeralds, the Bloom collection really caught my eye, especially the drop earrings and ring. When I say literal heart eyes, I mean it. I left with a pair of Briar lab diamond huggies which now reside in my second piercing forever!
While perusing the collection, I couldn’t help but notice how hot it was and I was wearing in a white linen suit with a satin bustier style top from Aritizia. Was it chic? Absolutely! Was it retaining ever degree in the process? Absolutely. As a larger chested woman, the underboob sweat started to do it’s thing by letting itself be known that it was hot out and staining my shirt with sweat only in that direct area. There’s a photographer there, this is a nice event and now I’m freaking out! So I excuse myself to the restroom assuming I would find one of those hand drying machines forgetting where I am. This hotel is very fancy and very old school meaning you will not find an air dryer for your hands in the bathroom but freshly rolled white hand towels. My panic started to set in and then a lightbulb went off.. I can’t dry the shirt.. why don’t I wet the whole thing and make it one color in hopes it will all dry the same? At this point I had nothing to lose and I didn’t want the photos from this event to consist of my sweat stained shirt so I did it. And I kid you not, it worked. So I guess I found a hack for wearing tight satin tops or maybe that was just a specific case that the universe just really wanted to work out for me as I’m aware this method would not work with say a satin slip dress but let me have this!
