I didn’t really experience acne until my mid 20s when I decided to get off birth control and said hello to deep, large pimples that leave a mark even though I don’t pick at them. I was so frustrated and I honestly couldn’t even tell you what I was using on my face at the time since I had tried so many different products in hopes to revert what was mainly hormonal. I also had no idea about clean beauty products let alone that what was in some of my favorite products could be aiding in the demise of what was once a clear face. The more I’ve tried different brands and their products, the more I was able to see what broke out my skin, dried it out and what actually worked to clear up the breakouts. I tend to buy multiple products from a single brand to test out how their products work together on my skin. I’ve narrowed my staples down to a few products that I absolutely love and have become the basis of my morning and night routine. The difference I’ve seen with my skin is unparalleled. I maybe get a facial a few times a year (I really need to work on that) so I’m very reliant on having good clean products that make a noticeable difference. This has to be hand down my favorite cleanser that I have ever used! Super hydrating with 11 amino acids mixed with seawater and the best part is it’s ph balancing. I have combination skin so something that not only neutralizes the oil but also succeeds in hydrating the drier areas is a godsend. Bonus being there’s no scent, cruelty-free and vegan. They’ve replaced the packaging from bottles to tubes since I took this to adhere from any confusion when looking for it!
Y’all! I don’t have a single bad thing to say about this product, IT WORKS. This lactic acid treatment not only smoothes rough and bumpy texture but actually makes your skin glow. No joke, this has been my saving grace with aiding in lightening my dark marks caused by those deeper rooted pimples, my face feels baby smooth after applying and erases fine lines. It exfoliates the skin, removing dead skin cells that would ordinarily clog your pores and cause bad breakouts. I just remember putting this on my face after washing it and running to my boyfriend like FEEL MY FACE and it’s like that every time after, I love this treatment so much and genuinely swear by it. If you don’t feel a difference let alone see a difference within days of usage, I would be so incredibly shocked. I’ve never had anything deliver results like this especially after the first use and stay consistent. If you don’t believe me, I advise that you go to Sephora and get yourself a sample to try, it’s some form of miracle serum and you NEED to try it!
I had never used a cleansing balm before this so I had nothing to compare it to besides just washing make up off with a cleanser and this magical concoction is a major game changer!! Whether it be after a night out or falling asleep on the couch with a full face of make up on knowing that you have to get up and wash… correction, scrub it off and even after, did you really get it all? I go in with one layer of this balm and really get that mascara and eyeliner all over my face, warm wash cloth and it’s the equivalent of those magic erasers. I follow up with my cleanser after to ensure a thorough clean but this stuff was sent from above.
Aaand we’re back to Summer Fridays but I’m telling you guys when I try a brand and their products actually work, I genuinely get so excited to buy others from their line and incorporate them into my routine. This I use maybe weekly even though I could stand to use more so, I love the exfoliating beads, the pumpkin scent and the way my skin feels after using. It’s also a two in one, you can use it solely for exfoliation or else you can allow it sit for 10 minutes and use as a mask after the exfoliation. Love following this up with their Cloud Dew Moisturizer gives you that fresh from the spa feel!
Chef’s kiss if ever one was necessary. Hyaluronic acid, hydrating gel cream. No oily residue, no clogging of pores, just lightweight formula that feeds your skin the hydration is so desires and most likely requires. It’s what I would imagine spreading a cloud on your face would feel like. Great for all skin types, fragrance free and just all around perfection. I literally scrape the sides of the container when I’m out if I forgot to order a new one. Can’t go a day without, let alone travel without it!
I am a huge fan of face masks in general, clay, peel off, sheet and now I absolutely love these heavy duty cryo rubber masks. I have tried all of these and with that it’s hard to go back to your basic sheet mask. So soothing and you leave the mask on for 30 minutes so the formulas can really penetrate the skin and the rubber mask helps insulate and promote the best results, they really do the job. Obviously they aren’t apart of my regular routine but every so often when I pop into Sephora it’s extremely rare for these to not show up in my bag.
These are my can’t live without, go to products that have given me the best results thus far. My skin fluctuates with my period, how I’m eating, my water consumption (as I reach for my water bottle realizing I’ve had none today) and stress levels. Sometimes we just have to accept that there are skin issues that are out of our immediate control but the best thing we can do is be kind to ourselves and try to take care of our skin and bodies the best we can!
