Whistler Village

Tucked into the breathtaking beauty that is the British Columbia’s mountains, Whistler Village is the kind of place that wraps you up in cozy alpine charm and never lets go. On a couple’s trip early this year, we had the absolute pleasure of exploring everything this winter wonderland had to offer, from scenic walks and cabin stays to world-class dining and spa indulgence. Our home base was a charming cabin just outside the village, perfect for quiet mornings with mountain views and easy strolls into town. Whistler’s walkability is part of its magic; tree-lined paths, fresh alpine air, and a picture-perfect village that feels straight out of a snow globe.

The real culinary adventure took us even higher, literally. We rode the gondolas to the top of the mountains and had lunch at Christine’s on Blackcomb, a stunning alpine restaurant with sweeping views and gourmet dishes. The pork belly was hands-down the star of the menu: crispy, tender, and bursting with flavor. It was a meal made unforgettable by the scenery and great company.

One of the highlights was staying near the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, where we booked massages that were nothing short of heavenly. The spa’s serene atmosphere and expert therapists made for the perfect afternoon reset, especially after ringing in the New Year. Afterward, we dined at the Fairmont’s downstairs restaurant, The Mallard Lounge, an elegant yet relaxed spot with rich flavors and cozy vibes. The buttermilk chicken sandwich is definite must order with a side of truffle fries- you won’t regret it!

Every evening seemed to end the same way, and we wouldn’t have had it any other way – back at Dubh Linn Gate, Whistler’s beloved Irish pub. With crackling fires, warm pub lighting, and live music that made it feel like a true local gem, it became our nightly tradition. And the Irish coffee? Truly the best I’ve ever had topped with freshly hand-whipped cream that made it next-level indulgent. Whistler Village is a dreamy, romantic getaway for couples who love adventure, luxury, and a touch of après-ski spirit. We left with full hearts, full bellies, and already planning our next visit.
